Since 2007, HEXA Food has supplied herbs, spices and seasonings to manufacturers across Malaysia and 12+ export markets. In 2023, we installed a dedicated sterilization line to deliver microbially safer ingredients for food manufacturers facing stricter audits and shelf-life requirements.

The result: a B2B ingredient range that meets tougher microbial limits while preserving the colour, aroma and essential oils your formulations depend on.

Infrared Sterilization — For Spices

Dry, controlled infrared heat penetrates spice particles to deactivate pathogens without water contact. Volatile oils, natural pigments and powder flow are preserved — no clumping, no flavour trade-off.

Two benefits in one pass: the same infrared cycle also reduces moisture content in the spice — lowering water activity (Aw), extending shelf life, improving flow characteristics in dry blends, and inhibiting microbial regrowth after packaging.

Best for: chili powders & flakes, pepper, turmeric, paprika, cumin, coriander, ginger, mixed spice blends.

Steam Sterilization — For Herbs

Short-cycle saturated steam treatment gently penetrates the cellular structure of dried herbs, neutralising microbial load while leaving leaf integrity and aromatic profile intact. Leaves stay green. Aromas stay sharp.

Best for: oregano, parsley, basil, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, mixed herbs, marjoram, dill, mint, sage, tarragon.

Chili Range

Heat, colour and clarity — preserved through infrared sterilization. From mild paprika to extreme heat, our chili range is engineered for surface seasonings, marinades and powdered blends where bacterial load is a control point.

Includes: Volcano Chili, Chili Padi, Korean Chili, Habanero, Cayenne Pepper, Paprika, Green Chili, Chili Flakes, Coarse Seedless Chili.

Pepper Range

Sourced from Sarawak, processed for purity. Our pepper line covers fine powders to coarse grinds, infrared-sterilized to retain the warm, woody, lemony notes that define quality pepper.

Includes: Black Pepper Powder, White Pepper Powder, Coarse Black Pepper, Coarse White Pepper, Sze Chuan Pepper (Coarse & Powder), Sansho Powder.

Western Herbs

Whole and ground Mediterranean herbs, steam-sterilized to keep leaves green and aromas sharp. Ideal where the herb is visible in the finished product — pasta sauces, bakery, ready meals.

Whole & Ground Spices

The everyday workhorses of every factory line — sterilized and ready for high-volume use. Consistent particle size, clean microbial baseline, and the aromatic strength your formulations expect.

Includes: Turmeric, Cumin, Coriander, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves, Star Anise, Ginger, Garlic Powder & Granule, Onion Powder & Granule, Fennel, Nutmeg.

Seasoning Blends

Our seasoning blends are formulated from the same infrared-sterilized spices and steam-sterilized herbs supplied across our range. Because critical component is pre-sterilized before blending, the finished seasoning inherits the low microbial baseline of its inputs — no separate sterilization step needed.

Microbial advantage: significant reduction in Total Plate Count (TPC), Salmonella, E. coli, and yeast & mould risk versus conventionally-blended seasonings — critical for surface seasonings applied after the kill step, and for products requiring extended ambient shelf life.
